Why we believe conscious fashion should never be limited to a small group of people.
One of the biggest challenges in fashion today is finding the balance between accessibility and sustainability. Too often, sustainable fashion is positioned as something exclusive: higher prices, limited sizing, and the feeling that only a small group of people can truly access it. From the very beginning, at Signé Sarah, we knew that was not the kind of brand we wanted to build.
For us, accessibility has always been non-negotiable. That’s why our tights are offered at a fixed price of $35. They may not be the cheapest pair on the market, but when you think about how many disposable tights women often replace throughout a season, one pair of Signé Sarah tights quickly becomes more economical in the long run. We wanted to create a product that was both more sustainable and more cost-effective for our customers.
But accessibility is not only about pricing. It also means inclusivity. From the beginning, we made the decision to offer sizes ranging from S to 4XL because sustainable fashion that only serves part of the population is not truly sustainable. We also expanded into multiple shades, from light nude to sunkissed nude and brown, so that more women could feel represented in our products. When women cannot find their size or shade, they often end up turning to disposable fast-fashion alternatives.
We also believe sustainability comes from intentional design choices. At Signé Sarah, we do not chase every micro-trend that appears and disappears a few months later. Instead, we focus on timeless essentials women will wear season after season: classic black tights, versatile nude shades, and styles designed to remain relevant year after year. This approach helps reduce overproduction and unnecessary waste.
Partnerships also play an important role in this mission. Working with retailers like Simons and PJC Jean Coutu for example, allows us to make our products accessible to customers who may never have discovered us online, while keeping pricing fair and consistent. From the beginning, our goal has always been to make this product accessible to as many people as possible without compromising our mission of durability and more conscious fashion.
Ultimately, balancing accessibility and sustainability comes down to three simple things for us: fair pricing, true inclusivity, and intentional design. That vision is what makes Signé Sarah not just a product, but part of a larger movement toward slower, more thoughtful fashion.
