Comment trouver votre taille parfaite (et pourquoi il ne faut jamais deviner)

How to Find Your Perfect Size (and Why You Should Never Guess)

Let's be honest: choosing the right tights size can feel tricky. Too small, and it squeezes. Too big, and it rolls down. And often, we end up guessing — or sizing up "just in case." Bad idea: here's why, and how to get it right from the start.

Two Measurements, Not a Guess

At Signé Sarah, we don't go by weight to determine your size — unlike a lot of traditional brands. Instead, we go by two precise measurements:

  • Your height
  • Your hip measurement (the widest part)

The rule to remember: always go with the size that matches the higher of the two values. If your height puts you in a Medium but your hips put you in a Large, go with the Large.

The Reflex to Avoid: Sizing Up "Just in Case"

This is the most common trap. We assume an extra size will give us room and keep things from rolling down. In reality, the opposite happens.

Here's what actually happens:

  • If you size up: the fabric is less stretched across your leg, so it looks thicker to the eye — the tights end up more opaque than expected. You also lose some of the hold that's what actually keeps tights from rolling down in the first place.
  • If you size down: the fabric is stretched further, so it's thinner — the tights end up more sheer than expected. They'll also fit tighter, which can wear down the knit faster over time.

In other words: the right size isn't just about comfort. It's also what determines how opaque or sheer your tights will look, and how long they'll last.

The Right Size Is a Tights That Lasts

Our unbreakable tights are designed to be stretchy and comfortable — but stretch has its limits. Tights consistently worn in a size too small take on more tension with every wear, which wears down the knit faster. On the flip side, tights that are too big will never give you the look or the hold you're after.

Bottom line: not too big, not too small. Just the right size.
